GF-N sliding profile: smooth aluminium guide for sliding parts and boxes
The smooth-surface Green Frame profile: parts, containers and boxes slide over it without snagging. You use it as a guide and sliding surface in chutes, workstations and gravity mechanisms, connected with 28 series inner connectors. It weighs 0.46 kg/m.
Why choose it
Smooth sliding
The smooth surface lets parts and containers slide without snagging.
Rounded lead-in
With the SR25 end cap at the end, the part enters the guide without catching.
Flush joints
It connects with GF-N inner connectors: no protrusions along the parts' path.
Lightweight
0.46 kg/m, slightly more than the standard pipe, with a higher moment of inertia.
Choose it if…
- Parts or boxes have to slide on the profile.
- You are building gravity guides and chutes for loose parts.
- You want flush joints, with no protrusions along the path.
Choose another solution if…
- The pipe has to turn like a roller: GF-N round roller profile →
- The part has to run on rollers along a slot: GF-N profile with C10 slot →
- You need a structural pipe for uprights and cross members: GF-N profile →

Application example
The sliding profile is used where material moves over the structure:
- Gravity chutes for parts and small containers
- Entry guides at assembly workstations
- Sliding surfaces for boxes between two workstations
What you complete it with
Rounded inner end cap SR25
Rounded lead-in: the part enters the guide without catching.

How to use it
Three tips for smooth sliding:
Fit the lead-in
At the guide entry use the SR25 rounded end cap: parts do not catch on the end of the pipe.
Set the slope
Tilt the guide with fixed-angle joints, such as the 10° inner connector, or with rotating and hinged connectors.
Flush joints
Connect the profile with GF-N inner connectors, so nothing protrudes along the path.
For heavy boxes or long runs at a low slope, a roller track is better: we will recommend the solution.
The LeanProducts service
From drawing to finished structure, with a single point of contact:
Design and load calculation
We start from your sketch or dimensions: we choose profiles and connectors and check spans, joints and loads.
Cut to length
We cut the profiles in our workshop to the lengths in the design, ready to assemble.
Kit or assembled structure
You receive the kit with the cut parts and the list of components, or the structure already assembled.
Spare parts and modifications
When the process changes we supply components and new cuts to modify or extend the structure.
Send us a sketch, a photo or the overall dimensions: we will reply with codes, quantities and cut lengths.

The sliding profile has a smooth outer surface, made for parts and containers to slide over it. It weighs 0.46 kg/m instead of 0.37 and is slightly stiffer: 1.47 against 1.16 × 10⁴ mm⁴.
GF-N inner connectors: they stay flush with the pipe and do not protrude along the parts' path. At the end where parts enter, fit the SR25 rounded inner end cap.
It depends on the weight, shape and material of the parts and of their base. For entry guides there are fixed-angle joints, such as the 10° inner connector; to adjust the angle, rotating or hinged connectors are used. We will help you choose it.
Yes, the smooth surface is also designed for containers. For heavy boxes or long runs at a low slope, a roller track is better: we will recommend the solution based on weight and path.
On the sliding profile the part slides over a stationary pipe; with the round roller profile the pipe itself turns on pivot connectors and becomes a roller. The first is simpler, the second reduces friction for heavier parts.
The SR25 rounded inner end cap creates a soft lead-in at the end of the profile: the incoming part does not catch on the edge of the pipe. It is the recommended end cap for entry guides.
The standard GF-N profile is suitable for most uprights and cross members. If a cross member is long or loaded use the GF-N W fitted upright (about 10 times stiffer), or the T (about 1.5 times) or the Hard (about 1.7 times, also for joints that take impacts), which have the same diameter. To fix plate castors, panels or rollers with T-nuts choose the profile with C10 slot; F35 and F50 have a flat flange for labels, small parts holders and supports. The sliding profile has a smooth surface for sliding parts and boxes, the round roller profile becomes a roller with the pin connectors, LS and LS with S slot carry a linear slide and the linear guide profile is the track for the linear rollers.
The GF-N Ø 28 is the standard for workstations, flow racks and trolleys. The GF-S Ø 19 weighs about half as much (0.20 kg/m versus 0.37) and is for light frames, dividers, guards and small mechanisms. The GF-G Ø 43 is for uprights and cross members that have to carry a lot: over a 1000 mm span it supports 851 N at the centre versus 195 N for the GF-N, for the same deflection. It is often worth mixing them, for example GF-G uprights and GF-N cross members joined by mixed connectors.
Yes. Green Frame profiles can be ordered as 4000 mm bars or cut to the length you need: we do the cutting ourselves, in our workshop. Give us the dimensions of the pieces or send us a sketch of the structure and we will prepare the cutting list.
Yes. The standard series is GF-N (Ø 28 mm pipe); GF-S (Ø 19 mm) is lighter and more compact, GF-G (Ø 43 mm) is for stiffer structures. There are mixed connectors that join pipes from different series, for example a Ø 19 or Ø 43 pipe to a Ø 28 pipe, so you use the right diameter at every point of the structure.
No. The connectors are fixed to the pipe with hex socket screws: a hex key is all you need. Loosen the screw, insert the pipe, bring it into position and tighten. No welding, drilling or painting.
Yes, it is the strength of the pipe system: loosen the connectors, move or replace the pipes and retighten. You can raise a shelf, extend a workbench or reuse the components in another structure when the process changes, with continuous improvement in mind.
Yes. We can design the structure (workstation, flow rack, trolley, line-side supermarket) with the load calculation and deliver it to you assembled or as a kit with the parts already cut and the list of components.
No. Profiles and connectors are in anodised aluminium: the surface resists corrosion and wear without painting and is easy to clean.
Yes. The range includes conductive components such as ESD inner end caps, ESD clips for electrical continuity between pipe and connector, and ESD inserts for levelling feet and castors. Tell us which EPA area you work in and we will tell you the components to use.
