Cardplan® Board: planning board for kanban cards and documents
Loose orders, work documents and kanban cards are quickly lost. The Cardplan® board holds them in overlapping pockets, each in its place, with only the edge showing: you read it without taking anything out. The metal panel is modular and mounts on the wall, on metal surfaces or on the mobile board stand.
Why choose it
Every document in its place
The overlapping pockets hold single sheets and small stacks up to 2 mm securely: orders and cards stay in sequence, with no loose papers on the workbench.
Read the edge, not the whole sheet
Only the visible edge, 15 to 90 mm, sticks out of the pocket: the card’s heading and code can be read at a glance.
Inserted and removed by hand
No tools needed: the document slides into the pocket and comes out with one hand. The pockets are made of durable light grey plastic.
Modular and expandable
Sturdy, dimensionally stable metal panel, 250 or 500 mm wide. The frameless boards are placed side by side to the width you need, extended later and combined with Cardplan® whiteboards.
Choose it if…
- you handle many orders, work documents or kanban cards that must stay in sequence
- you want to read the edge of each card without taking it out of the pocket
- you need a planning board that you build to the width you need and extend over time
- you want to mark columns, headings and traffic-light zones directly on the board

The card height is the height of the document to be inserted: for example, 148 mm corresponds to A5 landscape or A6 portrait, 297 mm to A3 landscape or A4 portrait. The visible edge is the part that sticks out of the pocket and stays readable; the rest of the document sits inside the pocket. With a 100 mm card and a 30 mm visible edge, 70 mm therefore stay inside.
It depends on card height, visible edge and panel height: from 2 rows (297 mm card, 90 mm edge, 440 mm panel) to 59 rows (74 mm card, 20 mm edge, 1244 mm panel). For the same panel, a taller edge shows more information but reduces the rows: with 148 mm cards on a 440 mm panel you go from 14 rows with a 20 mm edge to 5 rows with a 60 mm edge.
On the wall with the aluminium Z-holders or with the powder-coated steel horizontal supports. On metal surfaces with the neodymium magnetic supports, for panels up to 1085 mm high and boards made from August 2016. Or on the board stand on castors, which takes panels from 440 to 1244 mm high.
Yes: the frameless boards are placed side by side to the width you need and extended later, also with Cardplan® whiteboards of the same height (440, 795 or 1085 mm). The exceptions are the versions for 210 and 297 mm cards, which have aluminium side frames.
According to the ORGATEX catalogue, boards for 210 and 297 mm cards have aluminium side frames on both sides, except six 500 mm wide versions: K524-15-G, K534-15-G, K515-90-G, K525-90-G, K535-90-G and K543-30-G. The aluminium side frames can also be ordered separately.
Self-adhesive vertical dividers create the columns. The traffic-light angles slip onto the pockets: in red, yellow and green they mark the kanban zones, in light grey they act as a horizontal divider. Transparent label holders clip onto the pocket to label rows and columns.
