FIFO Monorail 40 mm rail: aluminium FIFO lane for dollies with castors up to 40 mm
An anodised aluminium rail that guides the castors on one side of the trolley only: the FIFO lane takes up little space and stays straight even with constant traffic. For dollies with castors up to 40 mm wide, in lengths from 1200 to 2400 mm. With the connecting plates you place several lanes side by side without drilling the floor; the 8 mm slots accept signs and accessories.
Why choose it
Guidance on one side, smaller footprint
The rail guides the castors on one side of the dolly only: one rail per lane is enough and lanes can be placed closer together, freeing up space in production.
Rigid and durable
Anodised aluminium profile for industrial use: it keeps its shape and position even with trolleys going in and out all day.
Modular stations
The connecting plates join the rails at a fixed centre distance, fitted in the end pieces: the station can simply rest on the floor without screws.
Ready for visual management
The 8 mm slots on both sides accept signs, boards, guarding and 30 × 30 mm Bosch Rexroth profiles.
Choose it if…
- You use dollies for KLT containers or light trolleys with castors up to 40 mm wide.
- You want sturdy aluminium FIFO lanes that do not shift and do not wear.
- You need a station with several lanes side by side, tidy and without drilling the floor.
- You want to add signs and boards for each lane directly on the rail.
Choose another solution if…

Where the Monorail 40 is used
It is the solution for line-side dollies and light trolleys:
- Line supermarket: FIFO lanes for 600 × 400 dollies with KLT containers, one for each part number
- Milk run exchange stations: the train leaves full dollies at the back, the line takes the first to arrive
- Buffers between departments: semi-finished parts waiting, in the order in which they were produced
- LIFO lanes: with the steel stop at the end of the rail you load and pick from the same side
Each rail guides the castors on one side: one rail per lane is enough, with the trolley resting its other castors on the floor.
End pieces: choose the right entry
Plastic end piece
Glass-fibre reinforced polyamide with integrated metal plates, V-shaped entry: the standard solution, pack of 10.
View product →HD aluminium end piece
Very sturdy, painted black, for high-traffic areas and high loads.
View product →Wide V end piece
On the loading side: makes it easier for large or bulky trolleys to enter, with integrated impact protection.
View product →All end pieces slot into the rail slots and lock with grub screws; with very high loads they are also screwed to the floor.
Station accessories
Connecting plates
They join two adjacent lanes at a 400 or 800 mm centre distance, fitted in the end pieces: no screws in the floor.
View product →Brush brake
Slows the castor and prevents the trolley from moving by itself; several brakes can also be used for intermediate stops.
View product →Anti-return device
Closes by itself once the trolley has entered: no rolling back and no picking from the wrong side.
View product →Steel stop
Closes off the rail: the trolley cannot come out of the end. For LIFO lanes.
View product →For long rails, use the MONO-SV-100 connectors and the MONO-HB side fixing plates to anchor them to the floor.
How to assemble it
Lay the rails
Position the rails along the lane: for long stretches you join them with the steel connectors in the 8 mm slots.
View product →Fit the end pieces
Insert the end piece mounting guides into the slots and tighten the grub screws with a 3 mm Allen key.
View product →Connect the lanes
The connecting plates are fitted in the end pieces and keep the lanes at the same distance.
View product →Fix where needed
With high loads, screw the end pieces to the floor (domed or cheese head screws); long rails are anchored with the side plates.
View product →If there is a pillar or obstacle, the angled plates on both sides connect lanes of different lengths.

It is a lane marked out on the floor with guide rails, in which dollies and trolleys line up. It is loaded from one side and picked from the other: the first trolley in is the first out (First In, First Out). Material does not age at the back of the row, the operator always knows which trolley to take and trolleys are not left scattered in the aisles.
It gives every trolley a fixed place and a picking order: less searching, fewer unnecessary movements and less forgotten material. The number of trolleys in the lane shows the stock level at a glance, like a visual kanban, and with signs and information boards each lane has its own code. It is a typical tool for line-side supermarkets, milk runs and 5S projects.
The FIFO Station is a self-adhesive yellow PVC profile: it adapts to almost any castor width and guides trolleys on one or both sides. The Monorails are aluminium rails that guide the castors on one side only: the 40 for castors up to 40 mm wide, the 55 up to 55 mm and for larger trolleys and heavier loads; with the connecting plates you build multi-lane stations without drilling the floor. The individual Monorail has separate guide sides, for custom widths. The Flatrail is a 75 × 5 mm flat adhesive guide, with length on request.
Dollies and trolleys with castors up to 40 mm wide, of any type: rubber, polyamide and similar. It is the typical choice for 600 × 400 dollies with KLT containers. For wider castors, up to 55 mm, or heavier trolleys, use the Monorail 55.
The 40 guides castors up to 40 mm wide and is an all-aluminium anodised profile: it is the choice for dollies and light trolleys. The 55 guides castors up to 55 mm, has aluminium side walls on a 1.5 mm galvanised sheet steel base and is designed for larger trolleys and heavier loads. End pieces and straight connecting plates are specific to each size; brake, anti-return, joints and side plates are shared.
Because that is enough: the rail keeps the castors on one side in line and the trolley follows the lane. You only need one rail per lane, lanes can be closer together and you save space in production.
Not always. The connecting plates join the lanes at a fixed distance and are fitted in the end pieces: the station can rest on the floor without screws. With high loads you screw the end pieces to the floor; long rails are anchored with the MONO-HB side fixing plates.
The MONO-EK plastic end piece is the standard, in packs of 10. The MONO-EK-HD-40 in aluminium is for high-traffic areas and high loads. The MONO-EKGS-V2 with wide V goes on the loading side and makes it easier for large or bulky trolleys to enter.
Yes. The rail has 8 mm slots on both sides: you can mount signs, information boards, guarding and 30 × 30 mm Bosch Rexroth profiles for signage structures.
Yes. The MONO-VB-W45D double-sided angled connecting plates join lanes of different lengths when they cannot be connected at the end pieces: this lets you shorten or interrupt a lane around pillars and obstacles. They are available for 400 and 800 mm centre distances.
Yes: fit the MONO-STOP steel stop at the end of the rail. The trolley cannot come out of the end and is loaded and picked from the same side. It is available for 40 and 55 mm rails.
With the MONO-EK-AS impact protection: two steel brackets, right and left, that screw onto the end piece and are also fixed to the floor. On the loading side you can also use the wide-V end piece, which has built-in protection.
With the MONO-BBR brush brake, which fits on the rail and slows the castor; braking is adjusted with the slotted holes and you can fit several brakes for intermediate stops. The MONO-RLS anti-return device, on the other hand, closes after the trolley has entered and prevents it from rolling back out of the loading side.
Yes. Send us a plan or photos of the area, trolley dimensions, castor type and width and how many trolleys each lane must hold: we will propose the system, number and length of rails, end pieces, connectors and accessories, with the complete list of codes.
