Lean principles / Safety
Safety: the first pillar, before any other improvement
In WCM, safety is pillar number one, and in lean it comes before productivity: a shop floor where pedestrians and forklifts cross paths without visible rules is not stable, and without stability there is no improvement. Marked walkways, signs that don't wear out and corner protection are the starting point.

Why safety has to be visible
Most near misses on the shop floor happen where pedestrians and vehicles share the same space, at unmarked corners and on slippery floors. These risks are reduced by making the rule visible: where to walk, where forklifts drive, where impacts happen.
Floor marking must last as long as the traffic that crosses it: that's why we choose tapes and signs based on load, floor type and temperature.
How to spot it on the shop floor
Signal 1
Worn floor lines that nobody repaints.
Signal 2
Column and rack corners dented by forklifts.
Signal 3
Escape routes barely visible when the lights go out.
01
Separate walkways for pedestrians and forklifts
Marked lanes that withstand traffic: people on foot and drivers know where they belong.
The problem
Paint that wears off in a few months, unmarked maneuvering areas.
The solution
LongLife tapes for heavy traffic and uneven floors, marking kits and projected signs where tape won't hold.
LongLife Rough Ground
Uneven floors
For uneven surfaces and heavy traffic; 5 colors, 3 widths.
LongLife Standard – Marking kit
Perimeters and areas
For warehouses, loading areas and restricted-access zones.

02
Signs that are easy to read and built to last
Prohibition, mandatory and hazard signs on the floor, on machines and above aisles.
The problem
Safety signs only on walls, where nobody looks.
The solution
Anti-slip floor signs, safety stickers for machines and equipment, ceiling-hung sign cubes for wayfinding.
Floor signs 600 mm
Prohibition, mandatory, hazard
Anti-slip adhesive plates in 15 graphic variants.
Semicircular floor sign 900 mm
Forklifts in motion, danger
Rigid anti-slip PVC, 10 variants.
ASR adhesive signs
On machines and equipment
Warning and mandatory signs compliant with ASR A1.3, Ø 200 mm.

03
Impact protection
Corners, edges and columns marked and protected: fewer injuries and less damage to racks and equipment.
The problem
Sharp corners in walkways, makeshift protection with tape.
The solution
Self-adhesive yellow/black bumper profiles for corners, edges and surfaces, screw-on kits for walls and snap-on bumpers for Green Frame tubes.
Corner bumper profile
Corners and columns
Absorbs impacts and flags the hazard; self-adhesive.

04
Slips and emergencies
Steps, ramps and escape routes that stay safe even on wet floors or in the dark.
The problem
Smooth steps, slippery ramps, escape routes invisible in the dark.
The solution
Anti-slip tapes for every surface, stair profiles for heavy-traffic areas and photoluminescent tapes for escape routes.
UniversalGrip anti-slip tape
15 colors
Also available in luminescent and two-tone versions.
Luminescent tapes
Escape routes
Readable even in total darkness; directional versions available.
