FIFO Station rail: self-adhesive floor FIFO lane for dollies and trolleys
The yellow PVC profile that turns a stretch of floor into a FIFO lane: trolleys go in at one end and come out at the other, in the right order. It is glued to the floor, screwed down where needed and guides the castors on one or both sides. Lengths from 1200 to 3000 mm, extendable, with wedge-shaped end pieces for easy entry.
Why choose it
First in, first out
You load from one side and pick from the other: material does not age at the back of the row and nobody has to work out which trolley to take.
Visible from a distance
Signal yellow marks out the lane and keeps trolleys out of the walkways: immediate visual order, as 5S requires.
Quick to install
The acrylic adhesive bonds to almost any floor; the end pieces can also be fixed with screws and anchors. No building work.
Adapts to your trolleys
It suits almost all castor and track widths, including special load carriers, and accepts aluminium profiles for signs and structures.
Choose it if…
- You want to create FIFO lanes for dollies and trolleys quickly, without drilling the whole floor.
- You have trolleys with different castor widths or special load carriers.
- You want a clearly visible yellow lane that clearly marks out the area.
- You need to guide the trolley on one side (rubber castors) or on both sides (polyamide castors).
- You want to add signs, boards or guarding with aluminium profiles above the lane.
Choose another solution if…
- You need a rigid aluminium rail that guides the castors on one side only, for castors up to 40 mm: FIFO Monorail 40 mm →
- You have larger trolleys and heavier loads, with castors up to 55 mm: FIFO Monorail 55 mm →
- You need a flat adhesive guide with a custom length: FLATRAIL self-adhesive 75x5 mm →
- You only need to stop the trolley in a precise position, not line it up: Aluminium Park Station (2 pcs) →

Where floor FIFO lanes are used
Wherever trolleys wait in line before being used:
- Supermarket and line side: dollies with KLT containers arrive from the warehouse and the line always takes the oldest trolley
- Milk run and tugger train: exchange lanes where the train drops off full trolleys and picks up empties
- Buffers between departments: semi-finished parts waiting between machining, assembly and testing, in the order in which they were produced
- Goods-in and dispatch: tidy parking areas for trolleys and dollies, with one lane for each destination
- 5S projects: every trolley has its place and the floor stays clear
With signs and information boards above each lane, the assignment is clear to everyone: code, destination, maximum number of trolleys.
How the lane is put together
Rails
Self-adhesive yellow profiles of 1200, 1800, 2400 and 3000 mm. They are extended with connectors to the length you need.
Left and right end pieces
Wedge shape to let the trolley enter without knocks, adhesive surface and 3 holes for fixing to the floor.
View product →Double end piece
Closes off two adjacent rails and integrates 30 × 30 mm Bosch Rexroth aluminium profiles for signs and guarding.
View product →Connectors
They join the rails together to extend the lane; with the screws and anchors in the set you secure the most stressed points.
View product →For long rails the end pieces must be fixed permanently with screws and anchors: adhesive alone is not enough where trolleys push hardest.
Guidance on one side or on two sides
On one side, for rubber castors
Place one rail to the right and one to the left of the castors on one side of the trolley only: the trolley stays in line with little footprint.
View product →On two sides, for polyamide castors
Place the rails outside the four castors: the trolley is guided on both sides.
View product →Structures above the lane
With the spacer for 45 × 30 mm profile or the double end piece you can mount signs, guarding and structures for overhead signage.
View product →The choice depends on the type and width of the castors: tell us which trolleys you use and we will show you the right layout.
How it is installed
Four steps, no building work:
Prepare the floor
The surface must be dry, clean and free of dust, oil, grease or solvents. Flaking paint must be removed or consolidated.
Align the first rail
Remove the adhesive backing film, line the trolley castors up against the rail, position it and press down firmly.
Lay the second rail
Position and fix the rail on the other side of the castors, using the trolley as a reference.
Fix the end pieces
Screw the end pieces to the floor with screws and anchors: they are pre-drilled. Ideal installation temperature 18–25 °C.
View product →After installation, run the trolleys over it straight away or press the profile down firmly: the more pressure, the better the long-term hold.

It is a lane marked out on the floor with guide rails, in which dollies and trolleys line up. It is loaded from one side and picked from the other: the first trolley in is the first out (First In, First Out). Material does not age at the back of the row, the operator always knows which trolley to take and trolleys are not left scattered in the aisles.
It gives every trolley a fixed place and a picking order: less searching, fewer unnecessary movements and less forgotten material. The number of trolleys in the lane shows the stock level at a glance, like a visual kanban, and with signs and information boards each lane has its own code. It is a typical tool for line-side supermarkets, milk runs and 5S projects.
The FIFO Station is a self-adhesive yellow PVC profile: it adapts to almost any castor width and guides trolleys on one or both sides. The Monorails are aluminium rails that guide the castors on one side only: the 40 for castors up to 40 mm wide, the 55 up to 55 mm and for larger trolleys and heavier loads; with the connecting plates you build multi-lane stations without drilling the floor. The individual Monorail has separate guide sides, for custom widths. The Flatrail is a 75 × 5 mm flat adhesive guide, with length on request.
It depends on the castors. With rubber castors, guidance on one side works best: one rail to the right and one to the left of the castors on one side of the trolley only. With polyamide castors, guidance on both sides works best, with the rails outside the four castors. We show you the layout based on your trolleys.
The acrylic adhesive bonds to almost all industrial surfaces. The surface must be dry, clean and free of dust, oil, grease or solvents; flaking paint and coatings must be removed or consolidated. Ideal installation is between 18 and 25 °C. After installation, press the profile down well: it increases durability.
The adhesive holds the lane in position, but we recommend also fixing the end pieces with screws and anchors: they are already drilled. On longer rails, additional mechanical fixing is done with the FIFO-PV connectors and the FIFO-SCHR-K screw and anchor set.
The standard rails are 1200, 1800, 2400 and 3000 mm. For longer lanes you join several rails with the FIFO-ADAPTER snap-fit connector, without screws, or with the FIFO-PV connector, which can also be fixed to the floor.
Yes. The FIFO-EK-1 double end piece integrates 30 × 30 mm Bosch Rexroth aluminium profiles; with the FIFO-EKV spacer you use 45 × 30 mm profiles between the left and right end pieces. This way you mount information boards, guarding, structures for overhead signage or gravity roller tracks above the trolleys.
The profile withstands 60 °C continuously and 70 °C for short periods, as well as humidity, UV rays, plasticisers and chemicals. For special environments, such as cold rooms or areas with frequent washing, we assess mechanical fixing with you.
At the entry you need the wedge-shaped end pieces: left and right FIFO-EK-2L/2R for a single rail, double FIFO-EK-1 where two rails are side by side. On the picking side you can use the short FIFO-PAK-L/R end pieces, which slot into the rail and are screwed to the floor.
Yes. Send us a plan or photos of the area, trolley dimensions, castor type and width and how many trolleys each lane must hold: we will propose the system, number and length of rails, end pieces, connectors and accessories, with the complete list of codes.
