Wolf mouth container
The open-front bin is open at the front: you see the contents and pick the part without moving the bin, on shelves, workbenches or at the line side. It stacks, has a carrying handle and, on the larger sizes, a cross bar that prevents deformation.
12 sizes, from 50×75×35 to 470×535×300 mm, in 5 colours to tell item families apart; 6 to 100 pieces per pack depending on size.
Lean Logistic · Open-fronted bins
Open-fronted bins: front picking from shelving and at the line side, 12 sizes and 5 colours
The container that is open at the front: you see the contents and take the part without moving the box. It stacks, has a carrying handle and, in the larger sizes, a cross bar that prevents deformation under load. Twelve sizes, from small parts (50×75×35 mm) to bulky components (470×535×300 mm), in five colours to distinguish item families.
Why choose it
See and take
The front opening lets you see the contents and pick without moving the container, even when stacked or on the shelf.
Order at a glance
Five colours to separate item families, suppliers or areas: it is 5S visual management applied to material.
They stack
Build columns of containers on the bench or shelves; the handle helps you carry them where they are needed.
Sturdy under load
In the larger sizes a cross bar stiffens the container and stops it deforming under heavy loads.
Choose it if…
- You pick small parts and components by hand from shelving, benches or assembly stations.
- You want to see at once how many parts are left and when to reorder.
- You need different colours for item families or work areas.
- You need a wide range, from the screw to the bulky component.
Choose another solution if…
- You want a wider opening and containers that nest inside each other when empty: Wolf mouth container Air →
- You need a closed VDA standard container for transport between supplier and line: RL-KLT small-load container →
- You want small parts in transparent drawers, in a bench module: Modular drawer cabinet →

Where open-fronted bins are used
Wherever someone picks parts by hand, many times a day:
- Warehouse shelving: small parts and components in fixed locations, visible from the aisle
- Line side and assembly stations: the parts in front of the operator, at the right height, without opening anything
- Supermarket and kitting: fast picking to prepare the kits to take to the line
- Maintenance and toolroom: spare parts and small parts in order, with one colour per family
Every second saved in picking is repeated thousands of times: that is where the right container pays for itself.

How to choose size and colour
Three simple rules for equipping an area:
Size from the part and the consumption
The container must hold the stock between two replenishments and leave room for the hand to reach in: for small parts the small sizes are enough, for large components you need 310×500 and above.
One colour per family
Decide on a rule (by supplier, by family or by area) and keep it across the whole line: anyone finds the part at first glance.
Two containers per item
With two-bin kanban one is in use and the other is full of stock: when the first empties, the reorder is triggered.
The containers are sold in full packs, different for each size: you will find them in the table below.
The LeanProducts service
A single point of contact, from analysis to reordering:
Flow and layout analysis
We look at components, consumption, workstations and routes with you and tell you which containers you need, in what sizes and in what quantities.
Configuration
We choose sizes, colours, lids and accessories together, and match them to the dollies, trolleys and shelving you already use.
Delivery
We confirm codes, pack sizes and availability in the quote, and deliver where you need them.
Reorders and expansions
When the line grows or changes, you reorder the same codes or add the missing sizes: the system stays uniform.
LeanProducts designs and supplies lean solutions for intralogistics: containers, dollies, tugger trains and FIFO lanes.
