45° connector - connectors for 30, 40 and 45 aluminium strut profiles
A 45° diagonal is the simplest way to stiffen a frame that tends to distort. With the 45° connector you attach the brace to the end face of the profile or directly in the slot, without drilling or milling. The 40x40 and 45x45 versions have centring tabs for instant positioning; if you mount it in the slot, you break them off by hand. It is the original Bosch Rexroth component, supplied as a set with screws and cover cap.
Why choose it
Stiffer frames
The 45° diagonal prevents the frame from distorting and relieves the corner joints.
End face or slot
You fix it on the end face of the profile or anywhere along the slot.
Self-centring
In the 40x40 and 45x45 versions the centring tabs position it; for slot mounting they are broken off.
Conductive connection
The connector creates a conductive connection between the profiles; the black version is for ESD areas.
Choose it if…
- You need to stiffen a frame with diagonals
- You use 30x30, 40x40 or 45x45 profiles
- You want to assemble without machining the profiles
- You work in an ESD area (black version)
Choose another solution if…
- You need a 90° joint between two profiles: Bracket →
- You need to withstand very high forces at a joint: Load connector 180x180 Dynamic Load →
- You connect a profile at right angles to the side of another: T-connector →

Bracket
The most widely used 90° joint.
Cubic connector
Angle between profiles of the same section.
Each connection must be chosen for the section and slot of the profile.

From parts list to ready-to-assemble kit, with a single point of contact:
Cutting to length
We cut the profiles in our workshop to the lengths in your parts list.
Check of codes and quantities
We start from the parts list or a sketch: we check nuts, connectors, feet and accessories for every slot and every joint.
Ready-to-assemble kits
You receive cut profiles and accessories grouped by structure, with the component list.
Spare parts
When you modify or extend the structure we supply the same original components.

Choose the section of the profile you use as the diagonal: 30x30 for 30 series profiles with slot C8, 40x40 or 45x45 for profiles with slot C10. Then choose the colour: grey for normal use, black if the structure is in an ESD area.
The mitre bracket joins two mitre-cut profiles forming a right angle, as in the border of a frame. The 45° connector, on the other hand, connects a diagonal reinforcing profile between two sides of the frame.
On the end face you connect it to the end of the profile; in the slot you can position it anywhere, even on a structure that is already assembled. In the 40x40 and 45x45 versions, for slot mounting, break off the centring tabs first.
Both create a conductive connection between the profiles. In the grey version, however, the cover cap in the set is not conductive: in an ESD area, choose the black version.
On the 30x30: 25 Nm for the S8 screw and 10 Nm for the M6 screws. On the 40x40 and 45x45: 35 Nm for the S12 screw and 25 Nm for the M8 screws. Observe the torques: insufficient tightening leaves play in the joint.
Two: one at each end of the diagonal profile. Send us a sketch of the structure and we will tell you where the braces are best placed.
The bracket joins two profiles at 90° at the joint. The 45° connector links a third profile diagonally between two sides of the frame: it is the reinforcement you add when the frame has to stay square under load.
It is the width of the profile slot and determines which accessories you use. Slot C6 (6 mm) is for 20 series profiles, C8 (8 mm) for the 30 series, C10 (10 mm) for profiles from the 40 series upwards. Nuts, screws, brackets and cover caps are chosen by slot: each accessory's product page shows the right one.
Yes. You can order the full bar or the piece cut to the length you need: we do the cutting ourselves, in our workshop. Each profile's product page shows the maximum bar length and the minimum cut length.
Look at the moments of inertia Ix and Iy: the higher they are, the less the profile deflects under load. For the same section, “L” profiles are lightened and deflect a little more. For long spans or high loads move to a larger section or a tall profile (e.g. 45x90 instead of 45x45). If you send us drawing and loads, we will check the choice.
The T-nut is inserted from the front into the slot, even in an assembled structure, and positions itself when you tighten the screw: it is the standard choice for fixing accessories. The sliding block withstands higher forces, but normally has to be inserted from the profile end before closing the frame; spring versions stay where you put them.
The simplest way is the bracket, which joins two profiles at 90° with screws and nuts in the slot, without machining. For end, T, 45° or three-way connections there are dedicated connectors, some of which require profile machining as stated on their product page.
Yes, for several accessories (for example cover caps, hinges and nuts) there are conductive ESD versions, indicated in the name or variant. Tell us which EPA area you work in and we will confirm the components to use.
On each product page you will find the MGE catalogue pages to download as PDF, with dimensioned drawings and technical data; the Specifications tab shows the data for the variant you have chosen.
