Closed cover cap for profile - closing cover cap for aluminium strut profiles
Close the ends of aluminium strut profiles with the cover cap of the same section: no sharp edges where people pass, no dirt or chips in the chambers and a finished frame. This is the closed version, without hole: it goes on ends that remain free. It covers the system sections from the 20 series to 100x100, with dedicated cover caps for R and HR rounded profiles and for 30°, 45° and 60° angle profiles.
Why choose it
No sharp edges
The cover cap covers the cut of the bar: people working at the station do not injure themselves on open ends.
Clean chambers
Closes the chambers and the central bore of the profile: dust, chips and liquids stay out.
Black ESD version
For workbenches and frames in areas protected against electrostatic discharge, on 11 sections.
An cover cap for every section
From 11x20 and 20x20 profiles up to 100x100, including R, HR and angle profiles.
Choose it if…
- You need to close the visible ends of uprights and crossmembers
- The frame is in a walkway and you want to remove sharp edges
- You work in an ESD area and need the black ESD closure
- You have rounded or angle profiles and need the cover cap for their shape
Choose another solution if…
- You need to cover an bracket fitted at the joint: Cover cap for bracket →
- You need to close the openings of a cubic connector: Cover cap for cubic connector →
- You want to close the slot along the full length of the profile: Cover profile →

Other closures in the system
Cover cap for cubic connector
Closes the openings of the cubic connector.
Cover profile
Closes the slot flush along its full length.
Ends, joints and slots: on a visible frame you usually need all three.

The die-cast zinc cover cap resists impacts and aggressive agents: choose it for exposed profile ends. In other cases the plastic cover cap for profile is fine, grey or black ESD, available for many more sections.
Choose the size matching the profile section: 45x45 fits 45x45 and 45x45L, 40x40 fits 40x40L, 30x30 fits 30x30. Rounded R and HR profiles and angle profiles (30°, 45°, 60°) have a dedicated cover cap. If you are not sure, tell us the profile code and we will confirm the cover cap.
For many tall sections there is a full cover cap of the same size, for example 30x60, 45x90 or 60x90. Others are closed with several cover caps of the basic section side by side: two 30x30 on the 30x60 as an alternative to the full cover cap, three 45x90 on the 45x270, two 90x90L on the 90x180L.
In die-cast zinc the sections are 30x30, 40x40 and 45x45. For the others use the plastic cover cap for profile.
They follow the shape of rounded profiles: R for profiles with rounded corners (20x20 R, 40x40 R, 45x45 R), HR for 40x40 HR and 45x45 HR profiles. On a rounded profile a square cover cap would protrude at the corners.
Not with this closed cover cap: it also covers the central bore. You need the cover cap with hole, a different version, through which the stem of the foot or castor passes. Ask us for the code for your section.
When the frame is in an EPA and all visible components must be in ESD version, for example on electronics workbenches. The black ESD version exists for 11 sections: in the variant selector you will find the colours available for yours.
This one closes the end of the cut profile. The cover cap for bracket instead covers the bracket fitted at the joint between two profiles. On a visible frame you usually need both.
It is the width of the profile slot and determines which accessories you use. Slot C6 (6 mm) is for 20 series profiles, C8 (8 mm) for the 30 series, C10 (10 mm) for profiles from the 40 series upwards. Nuts, screws, brackets and cover caps are chosen by slot: each accessory's product page shows the right one.
Yes. You can order the full bar or the piece cut to the length you need: we do the cutting ourselves, in our workshop. Each profile's product page shows the maximum bar length and the minimum cut length.
Look at the moments of inertia Ix and Iy: the higher they are, the less the profile deflects under load. For the same section, “L” profiles are lightened and deflect a little more. For long spans or high loads move to a larger section or a tall profile (e.g. 45x90 instead of 45x45). If you send us drawing and loads, we will check the choice.
The T-nut is inserted from the front into the slot, even in an assembled structure, and positions itself when you tighten the screw: it is the standard choice for fixing accessories. The sliding block withstands higher forces, but normally has to be inserted from the profile end before closing the frame; spring versions stay where you put them.
The simplest way is the bracket, which joins two profiles at 90° with screws and nuts in the slot, without machining. For end, T, 45° or three-way connections there are dedicated connectors, some of which require profile machining as stated on their product page.
Yes, for several accessories (for example cover caps, hinges and nuts) there are conductive ESD versions, indicated in the name or variant. Tell us which EPA area you work in and we will confirm the components to use.
On each product page you will find the MGE catalogue pages to download as PDF, with dimensioned drawings and technical data; the Specifications tab shows the data for the variant you have chosen.
