Also in support versions with lever and lockable versions with toothing.
AL Modular System · Swivel joints
Swivel joint for standard strut profiles - swivelling connections
With the swivel joint you join two profiles of the same section at any angle: you can leave it swivelling, lock it by tightening to 5 Nm or, in the zinc versions, fix it permanently with a pin. The support version is adjusted by hand with the clamping lever, the lockable version has toothing for precise angles and high torques. It is the original Bosch Rexroth component, with fastening hardware included.
Why choose it
Any angle
Rotation range of 180° or 182°, with a reference mark every 15°.
Fixed or swivelling
Lock it at 5 Nm, leave it free or, in the zinc versions, pin it at 15 Nm.
Lockable with toothing
Hirth toothing in 5° steps and up to 100 Nm in the direction of rotation.
Support with lever
Release, adjust and re-lock by hand with the clamping lever.
Choose it if…
- You need an inclined or adjustable connection between two profiles
- You need to be able to change the angle, for example on holders, arms or guards
- You want to fix the angle permanently with a pin (zinc versions)
- You need a repeatable angle under load (lockable)
Choose another solution if…
- You need a fixed 90° connection: T-connector →
- You need to tilt holders or brackets relative to the profile: Swivel fastening 180° →
- You need a fixed 45° connection: 45° connector →

Other elements for movable connections
Swivel fastening 180°
Tilts holders and brackets relative to the profile and locks them with the lever.
Swivelling support pedestal
For heavy superstructures to be tilted on 45x45 profiles.
The swivel joint joins two profiles of the same section: choose the size of your profiles.

Swivel joint 30x30 lockable: M8x30. Swivel joints 40x40 support and 40x40 lockable: M8x40. Swivel joints 45x45 support and 45x45 lockable: M8x45. Zinc swivel joint 45x45 at 182° and swivel joints 60x45 and 60x60: M5x10. If you have a different swivel joint, send us the code and we will tell you the lever.
The standard is adjusted by loosening the screw and locked at 5 Nm: suitable for angles you change rarely. The support has the clamping lever to release and adjust by hand. The lockable has Hirth toothing: the angle is selected in 5° steps and it holds up to 100 Nm in the direction of rotation.
Yes, in the 182° zinc versions (30x30, 45x45 pinnable and 60x60): after adjusting it you fix it with a pin, tightening to 15 Nm. The aluminium versions are locked at 5 Nm or remain swivelling.
It depends on the section: on the 30x30 a D11 through hole is needed for the front connection, with the D11 bolt connector; on the 60x60 the M12 thread in the central hole. The lockable 45x45 is fitted without machining, with a self-tapping screw. Send us the parts list and we will tell you what is needed.
The permissible loads are 10000 N (F1) and 600 N (F2) for the 30x30, 15000 N and 1000 N for 40x40 and 45x45, 20000 N and 1100 N for the 60x60. If the swivel joint carries a cantilever arm, send us the layout with weights and distances: we will help you choose the version.
The swivel joint comes with fastening hardware for the profiles. Clamping levers for the support and lockable versions are separate accessories; the lockable can also be fixed with a screw.
Yes, the lockable 45x45 is compatible with the standard 45x45 swivel joint and the 45x45 support: same section and same mounting dimensions.
It is the width of the profile slot and determines which accessories you use. Slot C6 (6 mm) is for 20 series profiles, C8 (8 mm) for the 30 series, C10 (10 mm) for profiles from the 40 series upwards. Nuts, screws, brackets and cover caps are chosen by slot: each accessory's product page shows the right one.
Yes. You can order the full bar or the piece cut to the length you need: we do the cutting ourselves, in our workshop. Each profile's product page shows the maximum bar length and the minimum cut length.
Look at the moments of inertia Ix and Iy: the higher they are, the less the profile deflects under load. For the same section, “L” profiles are lightened and deflect a little more. For long spans or high loads move to a larger section or a tall profile (e.g. 45x90 instead of 45x45). If you send us drawing and loads, we will check the choice.
The T-nut is inserted from the front into the slot, even in an assembled structure, and positions itself when you tighten the screw: it is the standard choice for fixing accessories. The sliding block withstands higher forces, but normally has to be inserted from the profile end before closing the frame; spring versions stay where you put them.
The simplest way is the bracket, which joins two profiles at 90° with screws and nuts in the slot, without machining. For end, T, 45° or three-way connections there are dedicated connectors, some of which require profile machining as stated on their product page.
Yes, for several accessories (for example cover caps, hinges and nuts) there are conductive ESD versions, indicated in the name or variant. Tell us which EPA area you work in and we will confirm the components to use.
On each product page you will find the MGE catalogue pages to download as PDF, with dimensioned drawings and technical data; the Specifications tab shows the data for the variant you have chosen.
Yes. Send us the parts list or a sketch with dimensions: we give you codes, quantities and cut lengths and prepare the kit with profiles already cut and the accessories.
