Aluminium strut profile 45x90x90L – L-shaped angle profile with slot C10
The 45x90x90L combines three 45x45 modules in a 90x90 mm L-section: it is the corner upright of the 45 series. It has Ix = Iy = 152.1 cm⁴, so it is equally strong in both directions, and eight 10 mm slots in heavy-duty geometry for highly loaded connections. Use it at the corners of frameworks, protective enclosures and heavy benches, where cross members come in from two sides. Order it as a 6070 mm full bar or cut to length in our workshop.
Why choose it
Equal in both directions
Ix = Iy = 152.1 cm⁴: the corner has no weak side, whichever direction the load comes from.
Heavy-duty slot geometry
The 10 mm slots have heavy-duty geometry, designed for high-strength connections.
Eight usable slots
Eight 10 mm slots around the section: fix cross members, panels and accessories from several directions.
Bar or cut to size
6070 mm full bar or pieces cut to your dimensions, from 50 mm upwards.
Choose it if…
- You need a corner upright where cross members come in from two sides.
- The load can come from any direction and you want the same stiffness in x and y.
- The connections are highly loaded and you want heavy-duty slots.
- You work in the 45 series and want to stick with the same accessories.
Choose another solution if…
- You want the same corner with only four open slots and more torsional stiffness: on request
- You need a 90x90 square upright, with Ix 211.1 cm⁴: Aluminium strut profile 90x90L →
- The upright carries normal loads and a 45x90 section is enough: Aluminium strut profile 45x90 →

Connections for the 45x90x90L
Choose nuts and brackets for slot C10: you'll find the right variant on the accessory's product page.
How to use it in the structure
Three things to know about the 45x90x90L:
Corner upright
Place it on the corner edge of the structure: the cross members on both sides are fixed to the slots of the two faces.
Heavy-duty geometry
It is one of the L profiles with heavy-duty slots, like the 90x90L and 90x180L: it handles highly loaded connections.
Just one cover cap
The end is closed with the one-piece 45x90x90 cover cap, grey or ESD black.
Send us the sketch with the loads: we'll check sections and connections.
The LeanProducts service
From the bill of materials to ready-to-assemble profiles, with a single point of contact:
Cutting to length
We cut the profiles in our workshop to the lengths on your bill of materials: full bar or pieces cut to length.
Check of codes and quantities
We start from the bill of materials or a sketch: we check profiles, connections, nuts and cover caps for every joint.
Ready-to-assemble kits
You receive cut profiles and accessories grouped by structure, with the component list.
Spare parts
When you modify or extend the structure we supply profiles and components from the same system.
Send us a sketch with the overall dimensions: we reply with codes, accessories and cut lengths.

It acts as a corner upright: on the slots of the two faces you fix the cross members coming from different directions, and the section is equally strong in x and y (Ix = Iy = 152.1 cm⁴). It is a single piece, with no joints along its length.
The 4N has the same L-section but only four of the eight slots open: the others are closed and smooth. It weighs 6.0 kg/m instead of 5.7, has Ix = Iy 160.8 cm⁴ instead of 152.1 and is much stiffer in torsion: It 65.3 cm⁴ versus 34.9.
The 90x90L has a square section with Ix = Iy 211.1 cm⁴ and weighs 6.5 kg/m; the 45x90x90L weighs 5.7 kg/m and leaves the inside corner of the L free, the space of one 45x45 module. If you need maximum stiffness choose the 90x90L; if you need the free corner or less weight, the 45x90x90L.
The one-piece cover cap for profile 45x90x90, in signal grey PP or ESD black. The same cover cap also serves as an cover cap with hole: the hole is opened when needed.
T-nuts and sliding blocks for slot C10, with M4 to M8 thread, and C10 T-bolts. The heavy-duty slots are suitable for highly loaded connections.
It is the width of the profile slot and determines which accessories you use. Slot C6 (6 mm) is for 20 series profiles, C8 (8 mm) for the 30 series, C10 (10 mm) for profiles from the 40 series upwards. Nuts, screws, brackets and cover caps are chosen by slot: each accessory's product page shows the right one.
Yes. You can order the full bar or the piece cut to the length you need: we do the cutting ourselves, in our workshop. Each profile's product page shows the maximum bar length and the minimum cut length.
Look at the moments of inertia Ix and Iy: the higher they are, the less the profile deflects under load. For the same section, “L” profiles are lightened and deflect a little more. For long spans or high loads move to a larger section or a tall profile (e.g. 45x90 instead of 45x45). If you send us drawing and loads, we will check the choice.
The T-nut is inserted from the front into the slot, even in an assembled structure, and positions itself when you tighten the screw: it is the standard choice for fixing accessories. The sliding block withstands higher forces, but normally has to be inserted from the profile end before closing the frame; spring versions stay where you put them.
The simplest way is the bracket, which joins two profiles at 90° with screws and nuts in the slot, without machining. For end, T, 45° or three-way connections there are dedicated connectors, some of which require profile machining as stated on their product page.
Yes, for several accessories (for example cover caps, hinges and nuts) there are conductive ESD versions, indicated in the name or variant. Tell us which EPA area you work in and we will confirm the components to use.
On each product page you will find the MGE catalogue pages to download as PDF, with dimensioned drawings and technical data; the Specifications tab shows the data for the variant you have chosen.
