Lean Logistic · Container dollies
Dolly Type VII B: dolly with drawbar for tugger trains and milk runs, 250 kg
The KLT container dolly that hitches in a convoy: sliding drawbar at the front, Easy Lock hook at the rear. Bring the drawbar up to the hook and the pin locks by itself. 600x400 or 600x500 mm deck, 250 kg per dolly, up to 1000 kg in the train.
Why choose it
Hitches by itself
Easy Lock, a K.Hartwall patent: bring the drawbar into the hook area and the pin locks automatically. A poka-yoke system, no tools needed.
The simplest milk run
It is the smallest way to start with the milk run: several dollies in a line behind the tow vehicle, each with its own stack of containers.
Holds its direction
Two fixed and two swivel castors: the dolly runs straight both in convoy and when pushed by hand.
Stackable even with the drawbar
15 empty dollies in 1955 mm, compatible with the Lean Adaptor Pallet for storage and shipping.
Choose it if…
- You want to supply the lines with a milk run of 600x400 or 600x500 KLT containers.
- You need a quick, safe coupling, with no tools and no errors.
- Each dolly carries up to 250 kg and the train stays within 1000 kg.
- You need ESD castors for electronics or rubber castors for delicate floors.
Choose another solution if…
- You want the containers at gripping height, on a raised deck: Dolly Type VII C →
- The dolly is only moved by hand, in tight spaces: Dolly Type II →
- You carry 800x600 stacks or heavier loads, up to 500 kg: Dolly 800x600 →
- You want to take dollies off the train in any order, from both sides: Taxi Liner 3 Bay for Dolly 600x400 →

Where it works
The Type VII B is the milk run dolly: a fixed round that takes full containers to the line and brings back the empties.
- Line replenishment: from the supermarket to the workstations, at fixed times, using kanban logic
- Warehouse and goods-in: dollies arrive on the Adaptor Pallet and leave in a convoy without transferring
- Automotive and components: KLT crates and trays from the supplier to the point of use
- Electronics: with ESD polyamide castors in protected areas
A well-designed milk run removes empty trips and forklift transport from the department: operators stay at their workstations and material arrives when needed.

How the train is built
Milkrun Drawbar on the tow vehicle
It fits on the tow vehicle and tows one or two rows of 600x400 dollies, or one row of Dolly 800x600.
View product →Dolly Pallet at the front
With the dedicated coupling, on request, a Dolly Pallet tows one or two rows of Dolly VII and 800x600.
View product →Taxi Liner
As an alternative to the convoy: three bays for 600x400 dollies, loading and unloading from both sides without unhitching.
View product →We check the number of dollies per train, curves and manoeuvring space with you on the actual route.
In the tugger train
The sliding drawbar and the Easy Lock hook turn the dollies into a convoy:
Easy Lock
Just bring the drawbar into the hook area: thanks to the poka-yoke system the pin locks automatically.
Loads and speed
Up to 1000 kg in the train, 7–8 dollies in a line, recommended maximum speed 6 km/h.
Coupling to tow vehicle
The Milkrun Drawbar fits on the tow vehicle and carries one or two rows of dollies.
View product →By hand too
Unhitched from the train, you push it to the workstation; with the ergonomic handle you pull it without bending.
View product →The drawbar stays fitted even when you stack the empty dollies.
100 mm castors: polyamide, rubber or ESD
All castors have ball bearings and protective caps: they roll with little effort and last a long time. You choose the material according to floor and environment:
Polyamide (PA)
Hard and smooth-rolling: the standard castor for smooth industrial floors, resin or concrete.
Elastic rubber
Softer: absorbs unevenness, is quieter and is kind to delicate floors.
ESD polyamide
Dissipates electrostatic charges: for protected areas where electronic components are handled.
Special versions
On request: ESD rubber, polyurethane, ESD polyurethane and Clean wheel; brake on one or two swivel castors.

They all have a 600x400 deck (Type I, II and VII B also 600x500) and 100 mm castors. The Type I has 2 swivel and 2 fixed castors and no drawbar: it runs straight and is pushed by hand. The Type II has 4 swivel castors: it turns on the spot and is handy in tight spaces. The Type VII B is like the Type I but with a sliding drawbar and Easy Lock hook, for hitching several dollies in a convoy. The Type VII C adds the raised deck to the drawbar: containers reach the line at gripping height; it carries up to 70 kg, the others 250 kg.
On the 1200 × 800 mm format: 4 dollies 600 × 400, 2 dollies 800 × 600, 2 dollies 600 × 400 plus 1 dolly 800 × 600, or 1 dolly 1200 × 800. The maximum load is 1000 kg per Adaptor Pallet. For the ISO 1200 × 1000 mm format we confirm the combination based on your dollies.
One stack of 600x400 KLT containers, two 300x400 stacks or four 300x200 stacks. The 600x500 dolly is for containers and trays with a 600x500 base. For 800x600 stacks or two 600x400 stacks side by side there is the Dolly 800x600.
Each dolly has a sliding drawbar at the front and a hook at the rear. To hitch it, just bring the drawbar into the hook area: the pin locks automatically, poka-yoke style, with no tools and no need to line up a hole. It is a patented K.Hartwall system.
Up to 7–8 dollies, with a total load of 1000 kg and a recommended maximum speed of 6 km/h; each dolly carries up to 250 kg. The right number for you depends on tow vehicle, route, curves and gradients: we check it together.
It depends on the base of your containers. 600x400 is the most common KLT container format in Europe; 600x500 is the ISO format. Type I, Type II and VII B are available in both formats, with the same 250 kg capacity.
With the Milkrun Drawbar, which fits on the tow vehicle and tows one or two rows of 600x400 dollies or one row of Dolly 800x600. On request there is also the coupling for having one or two rows of Dolly VII and 800x600 towed by a Dolly Pallet. We help you choose based on the tow vehicle you have.
The train is released with the quick pedal release: the operator frees it with their foot, without bending down. Dollies with the Easy Lock system, such as Dolly Type VII, hitch to each other by resting the drawbar in the hook area: the pin locks by itself, without errors.
Polyamide (PA) is the standard castor: hard and smooth-rolling, it suits smooth industrial floors. Elastic rubber is softer and quieter and is kind to delicate floors. ESD polyamide dissipates electrostatic charges and is needed in areas where electronic components are handled. On request there are also ESD rubber, polyurethane, ESD polyurethane and Clean wheel. All have ball bearings.
The 600x400 Type I, II and VII B dollies stack up to 15 units in about 1950 mm. The Dolly 800x600 and 1200x800 also reach 15 units in 1955 mm, 2300 mm in the versions with drawbar. The Type VII C, with its raised deck, stacks up to 3 units. This way returning empties takes up little space on the train and in the warehouse.
With the Lean Adaptor Pallet, the steel pallet for dollies: it carries 4 600x400 dollies, or 2 800x600 dollies, 1 800x600 and 2 600x400 dollies, or one 1200x800 dolly, up to 1000 kg. You move it with the forklift from the long and the short side and load it onto the truck; on arrival the dollies come off the pallet without lifting them.
Not in the standard version. On request, the brake is fitted on one or two swivel castors: useful if the dolly stands at the workstation on a sloping floor or if you often load and unload it at the line side.
The retaining corner kit, riveted to the corners, holds the stack during transport. The plastic tray goes under the containers and catches drips. The ergonomic handle is for pulling the dolly by hand without bending. For storage and shipping there is the Lean Adaptor Pallet.
Yes. We start from what you move (containers, sizes and weights), the routes and the floors: we propose the type of dolly, castors, drawbar and accessories and how to build the train with the tow vehicles you have. With LeanProducts you have a single point of contact for spare parts and support too.
